We find it necessary to publish an introduction to the response of the Picabia Committee to Alain Tarica’s « Picabia Affair » , a letter from Pierre Calté to Hans Neuendorf, owner of Artnet.com.

Tarica's Dossier

- - For several weeks, M. Tarica, a collector and art dealer based in Geneva and Paris, has been circulating a typed account of about thirty pages intended to undermine the reputation of the members of the Picabia Committee. It is the last episode to date of a controversy concerning a series of collages owned by Mr. Tarica. He is trying to convince the Committee to attribute these works to the artist Francis Picabia.
The Picabia Committee, after having considered the arguments M. Tarica has presented at length, let him know that to the best of its present knowledge the series of collages in question certainly could not be included in the catalogue raisonné of the artist, currently in preparation.
